THE family of the third person who died following a fatal motorbike crash say they are "devastated".

Jason Gibbon, a 37-year-old man from Northumberland, has been named as the third person who died following a crash on the A6088 on Sunday, July 28.

Jason was riding his Suzuki GSXR motorbike on the road between Bonchester Bridge and Carter Bar when he was involved in a collision with a Kawasaki ZX1400 motorbike.

In their statement, Jason's family said: "We are devastated of the loss of a much loved son, brother, uncle, boyfriend and devoted friend to many.

"He will be greatly, sadly missed. We are comforted by the messages from many.

"We would like to ask for privacy to allow the family to grieve at this very difficult time. "

The rider of the Kawasaki ZX1400, 30-year-old Andrew Lartey, and his pillion passenger, 23-year-old Georgia Tate, both died following the collision.

Sergeant Barry Sommerville said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the all who died in this crash.

"If you were in the area at the time and have information, including dash-cam, that could assist with our investigation then please make contact with us.”
