NED Boulting, David Millar and Pete Kennaugh are set to bring their highly regarded podcast ‘Never Strays Far’ to Kelso for a live event ahead of the Tour of Britain Men’s cycle race this September.

The trio will be joined by special guests for a ‘live pod’ on Monday, September 2, the evening before this year’s race starts in the town.

The evening promises “captivating stories, insightful discussions, and plenty of laughs”.

With the help of guests from the racing world they’ll cover a lot of ground, but never stray far from bike racing.

Tickets for ‘An evening with Ned Boulting, David Millar and Pete Kennaugh’ are available to buy online from Eventbrite.

The event page can be accessed from www.scotborders.gov.uk/tourofbritain. General admission is £10, with concessions £7, plus booking fee. Less than 400 tickets are available.

Boulting said: “We’re really looking forward to coming to the Scottish Borders and sharing an evening with a large audience as we talk all things cycling before enjoying what will be a great start to this year’s Tour of Britain.”

Stage one of the Tour of Britain Men’s race will take place entirely in the Borders on Tuesday, September 3. The race starts in Kelso and will pass through it again later in the day, before a final sprint along the cobbles in the late afternoon.

The 181km route will also see the riders race through Melrose twice and climb up Dingleton Hill and to Scott’s View on two occasions each.

The event is expected to attract some of the world’s top professional cycling teams and riders.

As well as having a spectator-friendly stage, there will be lots of activities and events in Kelso and Melrose on offer throughout race day. Further details are expected to be published shortly.
