SCOTTISH Borders Council has been invited to have its say on a proposal to build one of the largest floating offshore wind farms in the world.
The Ossian wind farm with an array of up to 270 turbines and associated infrastructure is proposed for the south east of Aberdeen.
The project has moved a step closer to becoming reality with a submission of the consent application to the Scottish Government.
The proposed Ossian project is being co-developed by a partnership comprising of SSE Renewables, Japanese conglomerate Marubeni Corporation and Danish fund manager Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).
Now the application has landed on Scottish Borders Council’s planning portal with the local authority invited to express its views on the project, although the ultimate decision lies with Scottish Government.
