SENTENCE has been deferred at Selkirk Sheriff Court on a 28-year-old man who admitted sending a film of a woman in an intimate situation via social media to another man.

Jonathan Williamson, who gave an address in Darcy Terrace, Mayfield, pleaded guilty to the offence designed to cause the woman fear and alarm or distress.

The film was sent to the man from Peebles between March 13 and April 2 last year.

A not guilty plea to sending the man unwanted messages and voicemails and uttering threats of violence and derogatory remarks was accepted by the Crown.

Sheriff Peter Paterson deferred sentence until July 22 to await the outcome of another case against Williamson.
