A GLASGOW choir is ready to rock a Peeblesshire venue on their visit this week.

One hundred singers from Glasgow will make the trip to Peebles this Saturday, June 15, for a special performance at the Eastgate Theatre.

Rock Choir are bringing their one-off summer pop-up performance to the Eastgate to help raise funds for the theatre.

Jennifer Scouller, who runs Rock Choir, enjoys spending her spare time in Peebles.

She said: “I have over 400 members in the six choirs that I run and we are always looking at new and different performance opportunities.

"I really love spending time in Peebles as it is such a beautiful town so I thought it would make a perfect day trip for the choir.

"We have hired a coach and we’re making a day of it and everyone is really looking forward to it."

The Eastgate concert will have a run time of an hour and promises to be a "memorable afternoon".

Jennifer added: "My choirs have sung more recently at the Ideal Home Show, and the Glasgow Race For Life Race and this month we are singing at the Kelvingrove Bandstand, the Queens Park Arena as well as local community gala days too.

"No two performances are ever the same but whatever the occasion we always have a great time performing and it’s lovely to get the feedback that we do from our audiences too.

"We do a lot of fundraising for charity and last year we recently we raised £3,000 for Alzheimers Scotland."

Rock Choir will take to the Eastgate stage at 2.30pm on Saturday, June 15.

Tickets cost £10 and can be purchased through the Eastgate Theatre box office on 01721 757 777.
