CHILDREN’S play and learning is “enriched” at a Peebles nursery, the Care Inspectorate has concluded.

Kingsland Primary School Nursery in Neidpath Road is registered to provide a care service to a maximum of 48 children.

The nursery is integrated as part of Kingsland Primary School.

An unannounced inspection of the facility was carried out by a representative of the Care Inspectorate on February 27.

The key message was that staff knew the children’s individual needs and this contributed to positive outcomes for children.

Children were deemed happy and confident within the nursery and the environment “enriched children’s play and learning”.

The report did note that to support children’s individual needs “the service would benefit from having more staff available on a daily basis”.

The nursery was rated ‘good’ in three categories – the standard of care, play and learning, its leadership and staff team and rated ‘very good’ for its setting.
