A HAWICK man who admitted communicating indecently with a woman has been fined £400 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Sixty-year-old Steven Murray pleaded guilty to sending messages of a sexual nature from his home in Havelock Bank in July 2022.
Sheriff Peter Paterson said it was a “sad case” and said he did not expect to see him back in court again.
Murray was ordered to pay £100 compensation to the woman and a £20 victim surcharge and was made subject to the notification requirements of the Sexual Offences Act for the next five years.
