POLICE in the Scottish Borders have confirmed that a missing 85-year-old man from Hawick has been traced.

Norman Stewart was reported missing from the Borders town after having been last seen in the Martin’s Bridge area around 10.30am on Friday, 22 September, 2023.

Sergeant Gavin Liddle said that significant resources had been deployed in the search and he issued a second appeal this afternoon asking the public to check CCTV, dash cam and doorbell footage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Thank you to all who shared our previous appeals.”
