SENTENCE has been deferred on a Galashiels man for good behaviour for the next six months.

Neil Gray, 45, pleaded guilty to four offences of misconduct at Borders General Hospital including police assault.

Sheriff Peter Paterson told him the offences were "extremely serious" but was being given an opportunity to show he can behave.

But he warned that if there was any further offending he would be going to jail.

The case will recall at Selkirk Sheriff Court on March 18.
