AN 18-year-old male was arrested following a pursuit through the Scottish Borders yesterday (Thursday March 9) which involved numerous specialist resources including the force helicopter.
At noon, officers were alerted to a sighting of two quad bikes on the A68 which were believed to have been stolen .
The riders of the bikes failed to stop for the police and the pursuit ended safely in Dalkeith area.

One quad bike was recovered and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
The teenager was detained in police custody to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "About 12:00 hours, Thursday the 9th of March 2023, police were contacted regarding a sighting of two quad bikes on the A68 in the Scottish Borders, which were believed to be stolen.

"After the quad bike riders failed to stop for police, numerous specialist police resources were deployed, including the police helicopter.
"The pursuit was brought to a safe conclusion in the Dalkeith area, where one of the quad bikes was recovered and an 18-year-old male was arrested in connection with the incident.
"Enquiries are ongoing at this time and there is no risk to the wider public.
The male will be held in police custody to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court."
