POLICE Scotland is hosting an online recruitment event for local residents interested in becoming a police officer and giving back to communities in and around the Scottish Borders area.
The event will give attendees insight into the application and training process, the role of a police officer and the endless opportunities available once they embark on this exciting career path.
Applicants don’t need qualifications to join. They just need to pass the Standard Entrance Test.
They will then go through 12 weeks of full training at the Scottish Police College in Tulliallan.
After that, all new police officers spend the first two years as a probationer, continuing to learn on the job.
After the two years, they can then specialise. That could include CID, child protection, cybercrime or road policing to name a few.
The opportunities to progress your career and development are endless
The event will take place on Monday, 29 August from 6.30pm - 8pm via Microsoft Teams.
To sign up and reserve your space, please email recruitmentpositiveactionteam@scotland.police.uk
