THE A7 will close overnight next month to allow for resurfacing work south of Ashkirk.
The 330 metre stretch of the A7 between Selkirk and Hawick will be closed from 7.30pm on Monday, February 14 until 6am on February 15.
Diversion routes will be signposted via the A698, A68 and A699.
These diversions will add approximately 14 miles and 24 minutes to journeys.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will help to address the defects on this section of the A7, creating smoother and safer journeys for motorists.
“It is essential for safety that we close the road during these works. We thank motorists and the local community in advance for their patience and understanding.”
Local access will be maintained for residents between the closure points when safe to pass through the works area. Emergency services will have access at all times.
