BORDERERS can attend a number of community testing sites from next week until September.

The Community Testing Programme in the Borders will be held in local fire stations or other community settings from 10.30am to 3pm on set days.

Tests will be available at:

  • Coldstream – August 9 and 10
  • Lauder – August 9 and 10
  • Eyemouth – August 11 and 12
  • Galashiels Volunteer Hall – August 11 and 12
  • Newcastleton – August 13
  • Innerleithen – August 13 and 14
  • Newcastleton – August 16
  • West Linton – August 16 and 17
  • Kelso – August 17 and 18
  • Selkirk – August 18 and 19
  • Jedburgh – August 19 and 20
  • Duns Volunteer Hall – August 20 and 21
  • Newcastleton – August 30 and 31
  • Galashiels Volunteer Hall – August 30
  • Innerleithen – August 31 and September 1
  • Kelso – September 1 and 2
  • West Linton – September 2 and 3
  • Selkirk – September 3 and 4

Rapid tests can also be accessed by calling 119 or by ordering online to have Lateral Flow Devices delivered to your home, by visiting a local pharmacy, collecting from Langlee Community Centre (a site being run by the UK Government's Department of Health and Social Care).

Rapid tests are only suitable for those who do not have coronavirus symptoms.

If you are presenting COVID-19 symptoms – these include a new and continuous cough; fever / high temperature (37.8°C or greater) and/or a loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste – you should self isolate and book a PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test via the GOV.UK website or calling 0800 028 2816.
