A PEEBLESSHIRE Health Spa is celebrating after selling more than £1 million-worth of gift vouchers in the run up to the festive season.
Stobo Castle Health Spa in Peebles have smashed through a record sales total, selling almost 10,000 vouchers prior to Christmas.
Despite the Brexit vote last June, the hotel and spa are continuing to go from strength to strength, citing the knock-on benefits could be passed on with the possibility for more jobs and trade for local businesses across the Scottish Borders.
Jenni Watts, Stobo Castle’s Marketing Director, was delighted with the sales’ success following a £100,000 advertising campaign.
Jenni told the Peeblesshire News: “We exceeded our target of £1 million in gift voucher sales for the first time - this highlights the huge awareness of the Stobo brand throughout Scotland.
“It is a great achievement and, with nearly 10,000 people waking up to a Stobo voucher in their stocking, surely this must make it one of Scotland’s most popular gifts this Christmas.
“Hopefully this will send out a strong message to the local community that Stobo is powering ahead, regardless of Brexit, and our on-going success can only lead to the creation of more jobs and trade for local businesses.
“We now look forward to welcoming the lucky people who received our vouchers to Stobo next year.”
On June 29, less than a week after the vote, the hotel issued a statement of intent via their Facebook page.
It said: "Scotland is, without doubt, facing a further period of political and economic uncertainty.
"However, far from scaling back our programme of continuous re-investment, we will accelerate and double our planned expenditure over the next 12 months.
"At a time when business confidence is near an all-time low, this pledge reflects our strongly held belief that Scotland will once again rise up and overcome the challenges facing this great nation of ours."
The gift vouchers can be used for ten different packages offered by the hotel. The packages include: an Evening escape, a Half day visit, Relaxing spa day, Stobo spa day and Luxury spa day.
Many of the packages include a use of many of the facilities with features including: a dip in the 25m ozone pool, hydrospa, hot tub, sauna steam rooms, use of the gym, optional fitness and aqua classes, plus guided walks and refreshments.
